| Internationale Gemeinschaft liefert weiterhin Hilfe für China |

In den vergangenen Tagen hat die internationale Gemeinschaft China weiterhin Hilfe zur Erdbebenbekämpfung geliefert. Das UN-Kindshilfswerk (UNICEF) hat die ersten 16 Tonnen Hilfsgüter am Montag nach Chengdu transportiert. Am gleichen Tag sind medizinische Hilfsgüter aus Russland eingetroffen. Die US-Regierung hat beschlossen, zusätzliche Sachspenden im Wert von zirka einer Million US-Dollar zu gewähren. Die amerikanischen Hilfsgüter werden am 21. Mai nach Chengdu transportiert. Die deutsche Bundesregierung hat entschieden, ihre Hilfe an China zur Katastrophenbekämpfung auf 1,5 Millionen Euro zu erhöhen. Auch die britische Regierung hat zusätzliche Hilfsgüter von einer Million Pfund zur Verfügung gestellt. Die pakistanische Regierung wird 10.000 dringend benötigte Zelte liefern. Darüber hinaus haben Dänemark, Norwegen, Island und Irland auch angekündigt, China Geld- und Hilfsmittel zu gewähren. Die Flüchtlingskommission der Vereinten Nationen (UNHCR) sowie die Internationale Organisation für Migration (IOM) haben ebenfalls Geldmittel gewährt. |
