Angesichts des verheerenden Erdbebens in der chinesischen Provinz Sichuan drückte die internationale Gemeinschaft ihre große Anteilnahme für die Erdbebenopfer erneut aus und stellte ihre Unterstützung für die Katastrophenbekämpfung Chinas weiterhin in Aussicht. Die pakistanische Rothalbmondgesellschaft bot China 3.000 Zelte an. Die materiellen und finanziellen Hilfsmittel im Wert von 545.000 US-Dollar des israelischen Verteidigungsministeriums sind bereits in Sichuan eingetroffen. Katar stellte für China 3.000 Zelte und Lebensmittel bereit. Das Spanische Rote Kreuz stellte China Hilfsgelder und -güter in Höhe von ungefähr 430.000 US-Dollar zur Verfügung.
