Die Vereinten Nationalen haben am Freitag die internationale Gemeinschaft zur Bereitstellung von 33,5 Millionen US-Dollar aufgerufen. Diese sollten für den Wiederaufbau der Erdbebenregionen in Sichuan in kommenden sechs Monaten eingesetzt werden, hieß es auf einer Sitzung im UN-Hauptquartier in New York. Der Leiter des UN-Entwicklungsprogramms Kemal Dervis lobte zudem die rechtzeitigen Maßnahmen der chinesischen Regierung bei der Katastrophenbekämpfung. Der ständige chinesische UN-Botschafter Wang Guangya drückte dabei im Namen der Regierung und des chinesischen Volkes die Dankbarkeit für die Hilfsleistung der UN und der internationalen Gemeinschaft für die Erdbebenbekämpfung aus. |
