   Die US-Außenministerin Condoleezza Rice hat am Sonntagnachmittag ihren Besuch in der Erdbebenregion der Provinz Sichuan beendet. Im Anschluss daran ist sie weiter nach Beijing gereist. Inzwischen hat Rice die Katastrophenbekämpfung der chinesischen Regierung und des chinesischen Volkes sehr positiv bewertet. Auf einer Pressekonferenz sagte Rice vor chinesischen und ausländischen Journalisten, das Tempo des Wiederaufbaus in der chinesischen Erdbebenregion habe sie tief beeindruckt. Während ihres Besuchs habe sie sich von der Großartigkeit des chinesischen Volkes überzeugt, so Rice weiter. Den Statistiken des chinesischen Außenministeriums zufolge habe die US-Regierung China seit dem Ausbruch des verheerenden Erdbebens in Sichuan eine Million US-Dollar sowie Sachspenden im Wert von 1,6 Millionen US-Dollar zur Verfügung gestellt. |
