Am 15. April 2008 traf sich der chinesische stellvertretende Handelsminister und stellvertretende Vorsitzende der 103. Kanton-Messe Gao Hucheng mit dem isländischen Handelsminister Björgvin G. Sigurdsson in der Ausstellungshalle Pazhou. Gao Hucheng sagte, dass die Teilnahme von Björgvin G. Sigurdsson bei der chinesischen größten Messe, nämlich der Kanton-Messe von China willkommen ist. Er hoffte, dass beide Seiten die Wirtschafts- und Handelsbeziehungen weiterhin verstärken. Island ist das erste europäische Land, das den chinesischen Marktwirtschaftsstatus anerkennt. Bald werden China und Island die 4. Runde der Verhandlung über die Freihandelsvereinbarung veranstalten. Björgvin G. Sigurdsson hoffte, dass die Verhandlung reibungslos läuft und die koordinierte Wirtschafts- und Handelsentwicklung beider Länder vorantreibt. |
