Beeinflusst von Preissteigerung vor allem beim Schweinefleisch und Speiseöl ist der Verbraucherpreisindex (VPI) von 3,3 Prozent im März auf 6,9 Prozent im November gestiegen und überschritt in neun Monaten die als Grenzwert festgelegte Marke von 3 Prozent. Zwar sind die Preissteigerungen auf Bereiche wie Lebensmittel und Energie beschränkt, es herrscht keine allgemeine Preissteigerung. Aber niemand zweifelt daran, dass China in eine Inflationsperiode gerät. Experten schätzen die Steigerungsrate des VPI im Jahr 2007 auf 4,5 bis 4,6 Prozent. Das Hauptziel der Wirtschaftspolitik ist zu verhindern, dass die gegenwärtigen Preissteigerungen sich zu einer "offensichtlichen Inflation" ausweiten, hieß es auf der Wirtschaftskonferenz der chinesischen Regierung am Jahresende. Die einfachen Leute legen nur Wert auf die Lebensmittelpreise. |
